When will Harry Potter: Wizard’s Unite be released?
Niantic announced their upcoming project this week, but they are yet to set an official release date for the game.
All we know is that JK Rowling fans can expect to get hold of the new technology at some point in 2018.
In the meantime, Potter heads will be pleased to know that a release date has been set for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2.
The blockbuster, starring Eddie Redmayne, will hit the big screen in November 2018.
What will Harry Potter: Wizard’s Unite be about?
As Niantic have seen such success using AR for Pokemon Go, they’ve brought this technology to their upcoming game.
Gamers will be able to immerse themselves into the wizarding world, with different magical graphics superimposing themselves onto our everyday surroundings.
While little is known about Harry Potter: Wizard’s Unite yet, casting spells and fighting legendary beasts is among the fun that will come with the game.
What have Niantic said about Harry Potter: Wizard’s Unite?
Niantic’s official website said: “We’re incredibly excited to announce this next step in the evolution of AR mobile entertainment.
“With Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, players that have been dreaming of becoming real life Wizards will finally get the chance to experience J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.
“Players will learn spells, explore their real world neighbourhoods and cities to discover & fight legendary beasts and team up with others to take down powerful enemies.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and WB Games San Francisco’s development team to bring this magical and beloved series to life in a brand new way.
“Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will leverage the full stack of the Niantic Platform while also providing an opportunity to pioneer all new technology and gameplay mechanics.
